2nd Convocation of Doon Univ on Dec 15

2102 students would be awarded degrees in the ceremony.

The Doon University would organize its second convocation on December 15. Addressing the media persons here on Monday the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University Surekha Dangwal said that the convocation would be dedicated to Women Empowerment. A total of 2102 students would be awarded degrees in the ceremony.

The VC informed that Mata Mangala ji and Mahant Shri Devendra Das will be honored with the D.Lit (Doctor of Letters) in the ceremony. In the convocation students from years 2017 to 2020 belonging to Graduate (Honours) and Postgraduate (Integrated) shall be awarded degrees.  A total of 93 students who scored the highest marks in their courses would be awarded with a Gold Medal. The VC informed that all the research scholars whose Viva Voce had been conducted till November 30 shall be awarded with M.Phil and Ph.D degrees.

“The theme of the 2nd Convocation will be ‘The Empowered Woman’ and event will be solely and exclusively dedicated to Women Empowerment,’’ she said. 

The Governor of Uttarakhand Lt General (Retd) Gurmit Singh would preside over the ceremony in his capacity as chancellor of the university. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat would attend the ceremony and address the students.

The Registrar M S Mandarwal, informed that all the students who’ve been registered for participating in the Convocation processions, shall have to compulsorily participate in the dress rehearsal which will be done on December 14.

He further informed that the Convocation ceremony shall be conducted in Hybrid Mode for the benefit of those students who live outside of Dehradun.

The finance officer, Sunil Kumar Raturi, Dean Student Welfare, H C Purohit and others were present on the occasion.
