At a time when Dehradun is grappling with the rising graph of dengue cases, the Doon International School (DIS) management said that they have been following the guidelines firmed up by the chief education officer (CEO) Dehradun to combat this vector-borne disease and to keep the children safe. Speaking on the matter, the school’s principal Dinesh Bartwal informed that the current outbreak has prompted the school management to strictly implement these guidelines.

He further said that as soon as the CEO had released the dengue guideline, this school started implementing it to keep the children away from the vector-borne disease. “Acting on the school management’s instruction, the students are wearing full-sleeve shirts and trousers.   This aside, we have told the school girls to wear stockings along with skirts,” he added.

Bartwal said that the school management is taking no chances as far as the health of the students is concerned. “Fogging is being done in the classrooms on alternate days. Besides, we are seeing to it that no water gets accumulated anywhere in the school premises and at the same time bleaching powder is being sprinkled on the wet areas of the premises,” he said and added that the management is making sure that the students strictly follow the dengue-related guidelines without the least deviation.
