Central schemes’ beneficiaries from U’khand invited as special guests in I-Day celebrations

Beneficiaries of various Central government schemes from Uttarakhand will witness the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort in Delhi on August 15 as special guests. About 1,700 persons related to various flagship programmes such as Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, Amrit Sarovar Yojna, Central Vista project and others have been invited to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on the occasion.

Dinesh Chandra Tripathi from Ranjeetpur village in Kotabagh area of Nainital district, who runs a Farmer Producer Organisation with 521 farmers expressed his happiness at being invited as one of the special guests from Uttarakhand. He said that it’s a proud moment for him and his wife Reenu Tripathi. He Tripathi said that the aim of his FPO Buransh Farmer Produce Company Limited is to make the PM’s dream of doubling the income of farmers a reality. Another FPO beneficiary Bharat Singh Rautela from Bhatwari’s Jhala village, a remote area of Uttarkashi district said that he feels proud after receiving an invitation to be a part of I-Day celebrations in New Delhi. Rautela said that earlier his FPO Upla Taknor Krishak Utpadak Sangathan Swayatt Sahkarita had sent ‘Chatni’ to PM Narendra Modi. He said that after this the Gram Pradhan of his village received a letter from the PM which had mention of his FPO’s ‘Chatni’. Rautela will take part in I-Day celebrations with his wife Sunita Rautela.

Bhavna Sharma, a beneficiary of Jal Jeevan Mission also expressed happiness and excitement to be a part of I-Day celebrations with her spouse Manoj Sharma in New Delhi. She leads women training under the village water sanitation committee and says that JJM has changed lives especially of the women of her village Pipaldhar in Almora district. She said that she has imparted JJM training to more than 200 women and she also runs awareness campaigns for safe drinking water.

Another beneficiary of JJM from Kyarkuli Bhatta near Mussoorie, Kaushalya Devi Rawat who is also the Gram Pradhan will also take part in I-Day celebrations in New Delhi along with her husband Rakesh Rawat. She says that it’s a lifetime opportunity to witness the PM speaking live from the ramparts of Red Fort. She also informed that previously too she got an opportunity to interact with the PM during an interaction programme of Water Committees in 2021.

Similarly, beneficiaries of PM Kisan Saman Nidhi from Uttarakhand have also been invited as special guests. Anadmani Bhatt and Naveen Chandra both of Alchaun village in Nainital district and Amrit Sarovar scheme beneficiary Ghulam Shabir of Indripuri village in Sahaspur area of Dehradun district will also be attending the occasion as special guests.
