Three people killed in road accident in Dehradun

Three people were killed and five sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Dehradun’s Kuanwala area on Wednesday morning. The deceased have been identified as three Rudraprayag district residents Gaurav Kanwasi (32) and Bhuvneshwari Devi (30) and her five- year- old- daughter Gauri.

The officials informed that the accident occurred around 6 AM on Wednesday when a car coming from the Doiwala area suddenly lost balance, crossed the divider and collided with two cars coming from the opposite side. All vehicles were damaged badly. The locals called the police at the spot who conducted a rescue operation.  The police retrieved all the injured people from severely damaged cars and took them to the nearby hospital for treatment.

The doctors there declared three people dead. The injured people have been identified as Dehradun residents Jasmati Devi (76), Manoj (31), Aamir Ali (24), Divyansh Negi (7) and Rudraprayag resident Buddhiram (78). On the question of the cause of the accident, the officials said that as per the locals, it appeared that the driver suddenly lost control of the car and collided with the other two cars. The police are investigating the matter but the situation will be clearer once the injured people will be able to talk to the police, the officials added.
