Rainy relief forecast in 5 districts today

Light to moderate rain in various parts of the State continued to provide relief from the heat on Saturday. The trend is likely to continue with the State meteorological centre forecasting the possibility of very light to light rainfall/thunderstorm likely to occur at isolated places of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky on Sunday with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 37 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile the rainfall recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday was 16.8 millimetres in Pithoragarh, 19 millimetres in Kausani, 15 millimetres each in Kanalichhina and Jakholi, and 12.5 millimetres in Dangoli. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 36.2 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.2 degrees Celsius and 23.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.4 degrees Celsius and 11.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.4 degrees Celsius and 12.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
