The police found the decomposed bodies of two men in Pashulok barrage in Rishikesh on Monday. The officials informed that the locals informed the police about a body lying in the barrage in the Lakshman Jhula area of Rishikesh. The police called the search and rescue team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) led by the head constable Arjun Singh to the spot to retrieve the body. However, the team found two bodies in the channel of the barrage when they reached there. The rescue team retrieved both bodies with great effort and handed them over to the police. The officials said that the age of both deceased appears to be between 25 to 30 years and possibly drowned in the river about 15 to 20 days ago. The Lakshmanjhula police sent the information to the nearby police stations about the victims to identify them. They also informed relatives of those people whose family members had drowned in the river in the past few weeks but their bodies were not recovered, the officials added.
