Police search for three children missing from government shelter

The police are searching for three children who went missing from the government children’s home in Roshanabad on Saturday. The authorities of the children’s home lodged a complaint with the police on Sunday when the children who had gone out did not return till Saturday evening and the efforts of the officials to find them did not yield results.

The government children’s home in Roshanabad, is used to house helpless minors and children separated from their parents. When the authorities are able to trace the family of any child, the minor is reunited with his or her family.  Adesh Kumar, the administrator of the children’s home informed the police that eight children from their facility go to BHEL sector-I to study in school. On Saturday, three of the children went missing when the children were returning from school while five returned.  Till late on Saturday night, the children’s home management was searching for them but could not find them. SIIDCUL police station inspector Pramod Uniyal said that on the basis of the application, a missing persons’ case has been registered and the police are searching for the three missing children. It is pertinent to mention here that this is not the first time when children have gone missing from the children’s home in Roshanabad. Similar cases have taken place in the past with some of the children having been recovered later.
