Swapnil Dhyani of Kendriya Vidyalaya IIP here won two gold medals in the finals of the table tennis in the ongoing Sports For All (SFA) Championships Uttarakhand 2022 on Saturday.
The 14 year old bagged his first gold by defeating Vikhyat Balodi of Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 Survey of India with a 11-7, 9-11, 11-4, 13-11 in the U-17 boys singles finals. He then added another medal to his kitty when he easily outclassed Delhi Public School Ranipur’s Krrish Saini in straight sets 11-4, 11-6, 11-8 in the U-19 category. Vadant Singh of Saigrace Academy International School finished third in the boys U-19 singles.
The second edition of SFA tournament is being conducted at five different venues in Dehradun and will conclude on Tuesday. The event is witnessing a participation of about 9000 players from 418 schools across Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Nainital and other cities of the state.
Maharana Pratap Sports College continues to be at the top of the championships table with 43 medals, including 22 gold, 15 silver and six bronze, followed by Patanjali Gurukulam (34 medals) and Him Jyoti School (20 medals).
