Cold day conditions & fog to loom over plains today

Dehradun witnessed foggy conditions and a partially cloudy sky on Monday. However, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the public celebrating the Pran Pratishtha at Ram temple in Ayodhya. The State meteorological centre has forecast that similar conditions are expected to continue for a few more days.

The meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and cold day conditions likely to occur at isolated places in these districts on Tuesday. Frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions. The meteorological centre has also forecast that moderate to dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur at isolated places over plain areas of Dehradun, Pauri and Nainital districts during the morning hours on Tuesday. Apart from this, dry conditions are likely to prevail in the districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with shallow to moderate fog likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 18 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 15 degrees Celsius and 6.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 12.1 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 12.9 degrees Celsius and 1.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14.9 degrees Celsius and 3.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
