School reopening; Parents to submit written consent

Schools to strictly follow the Covid-19 protocols and continue online mode of teaching

For sending their wards to the schools reopening from February 8 in the state, the parents would have to submit a written consent to the schools for the same. The schools would also have to continue the online studies and cannot force the students to attend the physical  classes.

The chief secretary (CS) Om Prakash on Thursday released a set of guidelines to be followed for re-opening the schools from February 8. The state government had recently ordered that the schools would open for the students of classes VI, VII, VIII, IX and XI from February 8.  The classes of X and XII were opened in the state in the month of November itself.

The CS has said that the District Magistrates (DM) can order closure of the schools in case of any spurt in the disease and threat of spreading of the pandemic. Every school would have to be properly sanitised before opening every day. The schools would appoint nodal officers who apart from ensuring Covid-19 protocols in their school would remain in contact with district authorities. The teachers, staff members and students should compulsorily wear face masks during their stay in the schools.

The CS in his order also held that the schools should ensure that the students are admitted after thermal scanning and sanitization is done in the school premises. The schools can function in two shifts for ensuring Covid-19 protocols.
