Light rain & snowfall likely at isolated places in mountains

Even as some places in the mountains experienced very light to light rain on Sunday, the State meteorological centre has forecast the possibility of very light to light rain/thunderstorm/snowfall in three districts on Monday. The meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorm/snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places especially in the higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts today. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in remaining districts of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius respectively on Monday.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 28.4 degrees Celsius and 12.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.2 degrees Celsius and 10.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18 degrees Celsius and 6.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 18 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Very light to light rain was also recorded in some mountainous regions with 2.5 millimetres being recorded in Pandukeshwar and 1.5 millimetres each in Jankichatti, Sonprayag and Jauljibi.
