Remain alert on Dengue: Health secretary to DMs

 Taking notice of the reports that patients with dengue like symptoms are arriving in the hospitals of the State but no case of the disease has so far been reported the health secretary, R Rajesh Kumar has directed all the district magistrates to deploy Additional District Magistrate (ADM) and Sub District Magistrates (SDM) for regular monitoring of the situation of Dengue in districts. He said that with the arrival of the rainy season, the possibility of transmission of dengue disease increases. Kumar said that the patients with the symptoms of dengue disease start coming to the hospitals for treatment at the start of July month. 

He said that the officer of the administration should review the medical arrangements in the hospitals and should physically visit them as soon as possible. Kumar said that the officers should ensure that there is no discrepancy in the medical management of dengue disease and full cooperation should be provided to the hospital administration in strengthening the dengue treatment management system. He added that since dengue has a strong potential to take the form of an epidemic prevention and control activities against dengue disease are mandatory. The secretary said that due to the concerted and combined efforts  the dengue disease has been kept completely under control in the state for the last three years, and control disease should be everyone’s priority.
