In latest news from Doon, the State food minister Rekha Arya said that new priority household white ration cards are being prepared under the National Food Security Act to enable the economically unprivileged people to get subsidised foodgrains on public distribution system. In the past six months, 3437 white ration cards have been issued in the State, she said. She informed this while responding to the lawmakers’ queries raised on the third day of the ongoing Budget session. She further informed that at present there are 12, 13, 327 priority household white ration card holders and 1, 83, 713 card holders under antyodaya anna yojana in the State and added that a total of 21,948 persons have applied for white ration cards under NFSA.
