Chariot of development of U’khand unstoppable now: CM Dhami

Inaugurates & lays the foundation stone of 19 development projects worth Rs 87.28 crore for Champawat district on Sunday

Congratulating the people of the State on the occasion of Uttarayani ( Makar Sankranti), the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the chariot of the development of State would not stop now and Uttarakhand would be among leading States of the country in the year 2025. He was addressing the Uttarayani Kauthik Fair organised by the Harela club at Tanakpur in Champawat district on Sunday. The CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 19 development projects worth Rs 87.28 crore for Champawat district on the occasion.

 He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided international recognition for Yoga. He said the work on the master plan of Kedarnath and Badrinath is complete. The CM said that a proposal to add Gorakhnath, Maa Varahi, Purnagiri Dham and other places in the Swadesh Darshan plan has been sent to the union government. He said that river Sharda has also been included in the Namami Gange abhiyan. Under the project STPs would be set up on the drains entering the Sharda river. Assuring the people that the development project would not stop due to shortage of funds he said that efforts are being made to make Champawat a model district. He said that efforts are being made to connect Tanakpur with rail services to other major cities and the roads are being repaired. The CM said that talks are going on to convert the Tanakpur- Sitarganj two lane road to four lane. He said that Tanakpur like Haldwani is also a gate and its all round development would be done. A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.

 The chairman of the Forest development corporation Kailash Gehtodi said that the Ghats of Sharda are being developed on the lines of Haridwar. He said that due to the efforts of CM Dhami Tanakpur bus station would become the number one station of the State.
