High diurnal temperature variation forecast in plains

The diurnal variation in temperature is likely to remain 18 degrees Celsius or more during next three to four days at a few places in districts of plains of Uttarakhand. Informing about this on Tuesday, the State meteorological centre stated that high diurnal variation in temperature is conducive for the spread of cold and flu. People (especially the children and elderly) are advised to wear woollen/warm clothes during morning/night times to remain protected from diurnal variation in temperature.

Meanwhile, the weather across the State is forecast to remain dry on Wednesday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsisu respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 29.7 degrees Celsius and 12.9 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.3 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.5 degrees Celsius and 8.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 22.2 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri
