Harish Rawat fears EVM tampering in U’khand

Former chief minister and head of the campaign committee of Uttarakhand Congress Harish Rawat has expressed apprehension about security of the electronic voting machines (EVM) and their possible tampering. On the apprehension raised by Rawat, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has directed all the district presidents of Congress party and the candidates to ensure vigilance of the counting centres from outside where the EVMs are stored.

On Friday Harish Rawat while interacting with the media persons at Haldwani said that he has taken data from all parts of the state and as per the feedback received from party workers and voters the BJP is losing the assembly elections. He said that fearing the imminent defeat a desperate BJP can temper or change the EVMs in its favour. Rawat said that the Congress party is alert on it. He said that the postal ballot can also be changed and added that anything is possible in a BJP government. It is pertinent to mention that former CM Harish Rawat is very active even after the end of the polling in the state. He is meeting different sections of the society and is making declarations about the decisions the Congress government in the state would take. He has also stated that he will either become chief minister in the eventuality of Congress getting majority in Uttarakhand or sit at home.
