An elephant went berserk in a populated area of Haridwar when it entered the area at midnight on Friday and broke the wall of a resident and created ruckus. According to the sources, the elephant roamed around the streets for about two hours and damaged wheat, sugarcane and mustard crops in the fields. Villagers reportedly said that despite giving information about the arrival of elephant in the village to the forest department in the night, no forest worker reached the spot due to which there is a huge resentment among the villagers against the forest department.
