The Lalkuan MLA Mohan Singh Bisht said that he will continue to make efforts for converting Bindukhatta into a revenue village. The MLA said this while speaking at an awareness camp organised by the Social Welfare department at Old Bindukhatta under the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006.

Bisht said that such a workshop was being held for the first time in the State. The MLA said that efforts will continue to make Bindukhatta a revenue village till the aim is achieved. Considering the need for formation of Gram Panchayat committees, he said that Bindukhatta will be adopted by Halduchaud Doliya Gram Samaj. With this the first stage of making Bindukhatta a revenue village will start. The MLA said that the necessary orders will be issued on Wednesday.

Terai east divisional forest officer Sandeep Kumar said that action will be taken at three levels to make Bindukhatta a revenue village. These will include formation of village committees at the local level, block committees at the sub divisional magistrate’s level and presentation of all claims in the committee formed by the district magistrate.  Tribal department official Deepesh Rathore informed in detail about the three points and explained to the locals that they can access their rights properly by presenting their claims in the correct manner. Lalkuan sub divisional magistrate Manish Kumar said that the administration is with the residents of Bindukhatta to achieve the aim of making it a revenue village.
