Preparations being finalised for Adi Kailash Yatra

 First phase of pilgrimage to be held from May 4 to July 7

While the Char Dham Yatra is set to start from April 22, final touches are being given to preparations for the Adi Kailash Yatra which is slated to be held from May 4 to July 7. The Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) which conducts this pilgrimage will send a team to check the condition of routes so that necessary repairs can be made.

The KMVN managing director Vineet Tomar said that the first phase of the pilgrimage will be held from May 4 to July 7. The second phase of the pilgrimage will be held from October 5 to November 20. A total of 34 groups are slated to undertake this pilgrimage this year. Twenty groups will be undertaking the pilgrimage in its first phase. The pilgrimage will begin from Kathgodam and pass through Kainchi Dham, Jageshwar, Bhimtal, Pithoragarh, Dharchula, Gunji and Om Parvat before reaching Adi Kailash. Apart from the religious significance of the Adi Kailash Yatra, the journey also enables the people to learn about the social and traditional customs of the people in this region of Kumaon.
