In latest new from Uttarakhand, the Uttarkashi district magistrate and district election officer Meharban Singh Bisht flagged off the voter awareness chariot from the Collectorate premises meant to motivate voters to enthusiastically participate in the upcoming electoral engagement. Notably, under the Election Commission’s systematic voters’ education and electoral participation (SVEEP) programme, voter awareness campaigns are being organised across the district to raise poll percentage.
The voter awareness chariot, decked with audio-video equipment, is being sent to several polling stations spread across the three assembly constituencies of the district. Besides, forms meant for voter registration are being distributed from the chariot. The district administration is focusing the most on the booths which recorded low voter turnout in the last election.
