Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remained busy in meeting people and attending programmes on  Deepawali. However what drew the attention was his decision to visit the homes of five former chief ministers on the day. The CM first went to the Defence colony residence of the Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to greet him Deepawali wishes and seek his blessings.

Koshyari who also is the former CM of the state interacted with him for some time after which Dhami headed towards the residence of former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat. The two leaders met very cordially and exchanged pleasantries. Continuing his programme of meeting his predecessors belonging to BJP, the CM visited the Basant Vihar residence of the former CM Major General (Retd) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri in the afternoon. He later met the former CM Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank and former CM Teerath Singh Rawat in their residences in Dehradun.

The decision of the CM Dhami to visit the residents of former CMs belonging to the BJP on the day of Deepawali is being appreciated within the party. These meetings also suggest that the young CM is open to learning from the experiences of his predecessors.
