Covid-19: Two deaths, 54 new cases reported on Saturday

The cumulative tally of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand mounted to 97,754 on Saturday with the state health department reporting 54 new cases of the disease. The authorities discharged 106 patients of the disease from different hospitals on Saturday following their recovery from the disease. A total of 94058 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state.  The recovery percentage from the disease now stands at 96.22 and the sample positivity rate is 3.83 percent. Two patients of the disease were reported dead by the health department on the day after which the death toll mounted to 1702 in the state. 

The health department reported 17 new patients of the disease in Haridwar, 15 from Dehradun, 11 from Nainital, five from Pauri, three from Pauri, two from Pithoragarh and one from Bageshwar on Saturday. No new patients were reported from Chamoli, Champawat, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts on the day. 

The state now has 583 active patients of Covid-19 with Haridwar at top with 206 cases. Nainital has 122, Dehradun 102, Udham Singh Nagar 39, Pauri 35, Almora and Champawat 16 each, Tehri 13, Uttarkashi eight, Rudraprayag and Bageshwar seven each and Chamoli and Pithoragarh six each active patients of the disease. Meanwhile 17932 people were vaccinated in 272 vaccine sessions on Saturday. A total of 89543 people have so far fully vaccinated in the state while 88985 senior citizens (age 60 and above) have received the first shot of the vaccine. In the state 5893 persons of age 45 to 69 with co-morbidity have got the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
