Covid-19- Death toll climbs to 1373 in U’khand

11 deaths, 496 new cases reported on Tuesday

The contagious pandemic Covid-19 has so far taken a toll on the lives of 1373 people in Uttarakhand. On Tuesday, the state health department reported the death of 11 patients of the disease. The department also reported 496 fresh cases of the disease on the day which increased the tally of the patients of the disease to 83502. The authorities discharged 534 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Tuesday. A total of 75049 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery percentage now stands at 89.88 percent.

Two patients of Covid-19 each were reported dead at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, Mahant Indiresh hospital and the Kailash hospital Dehradun on Tuesday. One patient each succumbed at Himalayan hospital, Synergy hospital Dehradun, HNB base hospital Srinagar, Jaya Maxwell hospital and District hospital Rudraprayag.

The authorities reported 177 new patients of the disease from Dehradun, 104 from Nainital, 60 from Pithoragarh, 25 from Udham Singh Nagar, 24 from Uttarkashi, 18 from Haridwar, 17 each from Chamoli and Pauri, 16 from Almora, 13 each from Champawat and Tehri, eight from Bageshwar and four from Rudraprayag.  Out of 524 patients discharged, 140 are from Dehradun, 77 from Nainital, 61 from Pithoragarh, 57 from Haridwar, 43 from Almora, 40 from Pauri, 32 from Udham Singh Nagar, 21 from Champawat, 19 from Tehri, 15 from Rudraprayag and five from Uttarkashi.

The state now has 6089 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is maintaining its lead at top of the table of active cases with 1897 cases while with 834 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 517 active cases. Pithoragarh has 434, Pauri 389, Almora 349, Chamoli 327, Tehri 319, Udham Singh Nagar 293, Uttarkashi 260, Bageshwar 191 and Rudraprayag 146 active cases of the disease. With 133 active cases of Covid-19, Champawat is at the bottom of the table.
