Consistent innovation must in education: Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that innovation is necessary in education. He said that the objective of education is balanced development of every dimension and it is impossible without innovations. The CM was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of Praveshotsav ( enrollment festival)  at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose residential school Bhaniyawala here on Tuesday.  He said that apart from inculcating high ideals and virtues in an individual, education provides solutions for the problems of the society. Dhami said that the State government is consistently working to promote girl education. He added that the government is committed to a bright future of the students. The CM opined that any society can become powerful and enrich only with the help of education. He said that the National Education Policy (NEP) -2020 would provide employment oriented education to the students and now they would not have to prepare separately for the competitive examinations. It would also encourage research and innovations and it would go a long way in making India a developed nation. He said that Uttarakhand is the first State in the country which has implemented the NEP-2020. 

 Congratulating the students, the CM said that a new academic session is commencing in the State. He said that 11 new residential schools have been approved in the State. The CM said that a sum of Rs 10,000 is being provided to the primary teachers for purchasing tablets. It would help in digital enrichment of the teachers. 

The CM inaugurated the upgraded building of the residential school Baniyawala on the occasion. A sum of Rs 21.76 crore was also digitally transferred by him in the accounts of the primary teachers for purchasing tablets.

 Speaking on the occasion, the education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the enrollment festival would last one month and the public representatives would also take part in them. He said that the State government is working to bring down the drop out ratio to zero in the State. The minister said that a decision to provide free textbooks to the aided schools has been taken. He said that a survey of all schools of minority would be done to check whether these schools are following norms or not.

 The MLAs Sahdev Singh Pundir, Dalip Singh Rawat, secretary Ravinath Raman, director general of education Banshidhar Tiwari and others were present on the occasion.
