In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the pre-poll switch from Congress to BJP continuing, a senior Congress leader from Lalkuan Geeta Sharma quit the party and took primary membership of the saffron party. Besides, a beauty pageant winner from Kumaon Vaishnavi Sharma (Doly) also became a BJP member. The BJP mandal president Dhan Singh Bisht was among those present when the two joined the BJP. After becoming BJP member, Geeta Sharma said that the Centre’s adroit role in Ram Mandir construction had inspired her to walk into the saffron fold.
