CM launches development projects worth Rs 226 crore in Dehradun

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation for development works of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) worth Rs 226 crore on Saturday. He inaugurated works worth Rs 40 crore and laid the foundation for works worth Rs 186 crore at an event organised at the City Forest park being developed by the MDDA at Tarla Nagal area of the city. The MDDA projects launched by the CM on the occasion include the City Forest project, Harbertput bus stand, Adhat Bazaar redevelopment project, façade and beautification work on Mussoorie’s Mall Road, Mussoorie Eco Park, beautification of waterfall in Maldevta, Gaura Devi park and beautification of artificial lake in the Defence Colony area, water park landscaping near the government inter college in Miyawala along with landscaping/arboriculture at Dehradun ISBT.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhami said that these MDDA projects worth Rs 226 crore will prove to be a milestone for the development of this area. Work will soon be undertaken on the various demands raised by public representatives, he said. “The government has launched various works for the State in different programmes. These include projects worth Rs 2,215 crore in Tanakpur, Rs 4,700 crore NHAI works in Haridwar, projects worth Rs 1,168 crore in Haridwar, Rs 161 crore in Champawat, Rs 117 crore in Almora, Rs 828 crore in Pauri and Rs 456 crore in Rudraprayag. The government is focusing on balanced development in every area with emphasis on satisfaction,” he said.

Dhami further said that unprecedented levels of development are being achieved under Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the nation moving forward in every sphere. The world is witnessing a new India in security, economic prosperity, respecting faith, livelihood and every other sphere. Uttarakhand has also progressed at a swift pace along with the nation. “A network of broad roads is being developed. A satellite centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh is being built at Udham Singh Nagar. Projects like the Delhi-Dehradun elevated expressway, Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line and expansion of air services are being undertaken in the State. An air service has been launched between Dehradun and Ayodhya. Airports are being developed at Pantnagar, Chinyalisaud and Gauchar. Work is underway to link every area of the State with helicopter service. The health services have also improved compared to the past,” the CM said.

Housing and Urban Development minister Prem Chand Aggarwal, Agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi, MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ and the MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari were also among those present on the occasion.
