Increase capacity of hospitals: Congress
The Uttarakhand Congress has demanded that the state government should increase the capacity to admit patients in different hospitals so that treatment for Covid-19 affected patients is provided. The party has also demanded that two third beds with oxygen facility in all the private hospitals of the state should be kept reserved for the Covid-19 patients. The Vice President of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana said that an atmosphere of fear prevails in society due to the spurt in the number of Covid-19 patients in the state. He said that in all the government and private hospitals authorised by the state government to treat the patients of the Covid-19, all the beds in general wards and Intensive Care Units (ICU) are occupied and they are now refusing to admit patients. He said that more than 28000 patients have come up in the state and the number of dead is almost touching 400 figure mark. The Congress leader said that the climax of the disease has not yet arrived. He also held telephonic conversation with the secretary health Amit Singh Negi and discussed the situation. Dhasmana said that Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh is on a tour of Kumaon region and when he returns to Dehradun, a delegation of Congress leaders would meet Governor Baby Rani Maurya.
