Rehabilitation of Joshimath families to be done in a planned manner: CM

 Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the State government is working to ensure that the rehabilitation of the land subsidence affected families in Joshimath is done in a planned manner. He said that many organisations are also coming forward to cooperate with the government in the endeavour to help the disaster affected. The CM was speaking at his camp office after flagging off vehicles carrying relief material for the people affected by the crisis triggered by land subsidence in Joshimath town. The relief material is contributed by the HDFC bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The relief material would be distributed by the Manav Sewa Samaj Sanstha to the disaster affected families. The HDFC bank has provided 1,500 hot water bags, one thousand blankets, eight solar powered geysers, one thousand emergency solar charge lights, 20,000 sanitary pads, 260 stoves and 460 room heaters.

The CM expressed his gratitude to the HDFC bank and Manav Sewa Samaj Sanstha for the cooperation they have given for the disaster affected families. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has himself reviewed the works being done for the affected families of Joshimath and the Union government has assured every possible help in relief and rehabilitation works in Joshimath.  Dhami added that a sum of Rs 1,000 crore has been kept in the budget this year for the disaster affected families in Joshimath.

 The circle head of HDFC bank Bakul Sikka, Gaurav Jain, Vivek Grover and representatives of Manav Sewa Sanstha Ashish Giri, Jitendra Mudlaiyar and others were present on the occasion.
