DMs ordered to conduct audit of oxygen use in hospitals

The additional chief secretary Manisha Panwar has said that the state government is trying to get the medical equipment from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of companies and is in touch with all social organisations.

Addressing media persons at the state secretariat on Wednesday she said that nodal officers have been deputed for better management of Covid related arrangements.

The health secretary Amit Singh Negi said that the state government is making arrangements for more and more oxygen supported beds and ICU beds for Covid patients. He said that the state government has transferred a sum of Rs 40 Crore to Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) and claimed that 1400 oxygen beds would be ready in next few days. He said that the health department is focussing on a higher number of tests and so far 39 lakh RTPCR tests have been done. Negi said that the state has received 3.5 lakh doses of vaccine for people above 45 years and age and for vaccination of people between 18 to 45 years a sum of Rs 100 Crore has been released from CM relief fund. He claimed that a portal for plasma donation has been set in place and it is getting good response.

The health secretary said that the private hospitals have been asked to use Remdesivir injections as per the SOP. He said that the district magistrates have been asked to conduct an audit of the Oxygen used in the hospitals. Negi added that officers have been assigned responsibility for arranging human resources for the health facilities and arrangement is being done through outsource, PRD and UPNL. The secretary health Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that use of medicine Tocilizumab is being done in special cases for treatment of Covid and the state has received 25 doses of this medicine out of 125 allotted by the centre.

The Inspector General (IG) Amit Sinha said that four persons have been arrested in the last two days in connection with black marketing of Covid medicines in the state.
