Congress organises a programme on the occasion of International Women’s Day; many women felicitated

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has said that the women have outshone men in every field and they possess better leadership qualities as compared to the males. He was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of International Women’s day at the state headquarters of the Congress party on Tuesday. He said that from ancient times women have shown the light to society. The PCC president said that the women played a key role in the freedom struggle of the country and in the statehood movement of Uttarakhand. He remembered the contribution of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, former President Pratiba Patil, Sonia Gandhi in politics and P T Usha, Marry Kom, Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza in sports and Sunita Williams and Kalpana Chawala in space sciences. The PCC president also paid tributes to Gaura Devi and Tilu Rauteli on the occasion.
On the occasion the president of the Mahila Congress Jyoti Rautela congratulated everyone and said that women are contributing in every field. Many women were honoured on the occasion.
