Will end migration by maximising self-employment- Rawat

The Congress will end migration by maximising self-employment in the state. All the pending issues of people will be resolved soon. Within six months of the Congress winning the Assembly election, a bypass will be constructed in Lalkuan and various problems faced from Bindukhatta to Chorgalia will be resolved as early as possible. Former chief minister and the Congress candidate from Lalkuan, Harish Rawat said this while addressing the media here on Saturday.

Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of indulging in the politics of hate, he opined that its members had not been able to rise above their narrow mindedness and are misinforming the people. “The BJP people are now publicising me as an outsider while in my 55 years of political life I have never asked anyone’s birthplace. My priority will be to ensure all round development of Lalkuan constituency. We will end migration in the state by facilitating self employment for maximum number of people. Considering the problems affecting crops, we will work on three types of work plans- implement State crop insurance scheme, checking damage caused by wildlife and making cattle shelters at various places to check damage caused by stray cattle,” said Rawat.

Work will be done on the concept of government at the people’s doorsteps after the Congress is elected, he added. The Congress candidate also listed various plans to address issues of different sections in the constituency. Former cabinet minister Harish Chandra Durgapal and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
