In latest news from Uttarakhand, to thwart attempts by wild life poachers using the winter fog as shield, the Haridwar forest division and the Chilla/ Gohri range of Rajaji National Park are maintaining heightened vigil together. The SDO of the Haridwar forest division Sadipa Sharma and the wildlife conservation officer of the Chilla/Gahore range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve conducted on-site inspection of the buffer zone areas of these two divisions together. Besides, forest teams made an intensive inspection in 18 km area of the Chilla and Shyampur buffer zones. These two women forest officers directed officers/staffers to maintain heightened vigil in the poaching-sensitive areas.  A forest staff said that aside from the poachers using fog as shield to hide their operation, some of those camping in resorts located in proximity to the reserve are inclined to flouting forest laws and this warrants heightened, round the clock and collective vigil during this time.
