Thunderstorms with intense to very intense spells likely in isolated places today

With the rain on the wane across the State, some parts of the State experienced light rain on Saturday. The weather is expected to remain free of major rain activity in the coming week. Meanwhile, the State meteorological centre issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State on Sunday. In addition to this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in the districts today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thunderstorms likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday. Light rain was recorded in some parts of the State on Saturday with 7.5 millimetres in Kedarnath, four millimetres in Nainital and three millimetres in Mana. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on the day were 33.6 degrees Celsius and 21.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.7 degrees Celsius and 14.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.4 degrees Celsius and 16.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
