Vaccination drive- 129029 so far receive vaccine shots in U’khand

One death, 44 new Covid-19 cases reported on Wednesday

The vaccination drive against the contagion of Covid-19 which commenced in the state on January 16 has started gathering momentum in Uttarakhand. In the state a total of 129029 people have so far received the first dose of vaccine while 3335 healthcare workers have got the second shot of the vaccine. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that 5036 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 115 sessions on Wednesday. A total of 4308 front line workers and 728 health care workers were vaccinated on the day. 

With increase in pace of vaccination the number of new cases of the Covid-19 and active patients too is witnessing a decline. The state health department reported only 44 new cases of the disease on Wednesday which increased the tally of the disease to 96964. The department also reported the death of one patient from the pandemic which increased the death toll to 1683 in the state. The authorities discharged 53 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Wednesday. A total of 93309 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far and the recovery percentage is now at 96.23. One patient was reported dead at Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani on Wednesday. 

The state health department reported 17 new cases of the disease from Dehradun, 14 from Nainital, 11 from Haridwar and one each from Tehri and Udham Singh Nagar on Wednesday.  Eight districts of the state reported no new case of the disease on the day. These districts are Almora, Bageshwar Chamoli, Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi. 

The state now has only 548 active patients of the disease. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 138 patients. Nainital has 103, Almora 70, Udham Singh Nagar 50, Pauri 33, Dehradun 32, Tehri 25, Chamoli 24, Pithoragarh 22, Bageshwar 19, Champawat 16, Uttarkashi 13 and Rudraprayag three active cases of the disease.
