Valley of Flowers now open for visitors

The Valley of Flowers national park was reopened to tourists on Sunday with 83 persons visiting it on the first day. The valley was opened to visitors at 7 AM.

The Valley of Flowers forest ranger Chetna Kandpal unlocked the gates to the valley which will now remain open for visitors till October 31. According to Forest department officials, following the melting of snow, various species of flowers have bloomed in the valley.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Valley of Flowers remains closed to visitors for about seven months in a year. Snowfall begins during this period in the valley, making it inaccessible for visitors. About 500 species of alpine flowers, various herbs, wildlife and rich biodiversity make the valley a unique attraction.
