Announcement of CBSE result date causes anxiety among parents & students

The impending release of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X and XII results has created a sense of anxiety and stress among students and parents throughout the city. Following speculations and rumors regarding the announcement of the exam results by CBSE, the board released a statement on Friday clarifying that the results for classes X and XII will be announced after May 20. In response to this official announcement, students and parents shared their sentiments.

 Radha Kashyap who is a mother of a class XII student expressed her uncertainty and concern regarding the sudden announcement of the result date for her son. She is worried about the outcome and emphasised the importance of her son’s class XII marks for his entire career.

Apart from this many other parents in Dehradun have also shared similar concerns about the expectations they have for their children’s results during the board examinations. Additionally, some parents have mentioned their superstitious beliefs in hopes of their children performing well in the examination.

Student Saksham Kumar from class X revealed that he and his friends engaged in a lengthy discussion throughout the day regarding the upcoming result, expressing his anxiety regarding it. Additionally, he disclosed that his parents’ high expectations for a favourable outcome were causing him heightened concern about the impending result. The anticipation of the release of the result has led to episodes of sleeplessness and decreased appetite for him, he said.

“’The imminent declaration of my class XII exam results has instilled stress and apprehension in me regarding the possible outcome. As the outcomes of the class XII examinations play a pivotal role in determining future academic pursuits and the need to pass subsequent examinations, I have refrained from engaging in leisure activities outside and instead have been preoccupied with thoughts about the impending result since the commencement of the month of May. This preoccupation has been magnified following the recent announcement of the result date by the CBSE board,” another student Shreya Malhotra said.
