A man from Delhi allegedly tried to commit suicide in a hotel room in Rishikesh on Monday. The police informed that Babloo Rastogi, an operator of a hotel near the old bus station in Rishikesh informed the police on Monday that a man named Jeetendra Kumar from Delhi checked in at his hotel on November 5.
The man allegedly told the hotel staff that he is going to Neelkanth but he later returned to his room on November 6, as Rastogi informed the police. The police said that when the staff went to his room on Monday during check-out time and knocked on the door, there was no response from the man. When the staff felt no movement inside the room, they suspected something unfortunate had happened with the man and called the police.
The police forcibly broke the door and found the man lying on the bed who was bleeding from his wrist. The victim was immediately taken to hospital in critical condition where he was getting treatment till late Monday night. The police said that it appears that the man had allegedly slit his wrist in an attempt to commit suicide but they are looking into the matter.
