Uttrakhand Amateur Kickboxing Association (UAKA) will organise the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO) Uttarakhand kickboxing championship at Parade Ground on May 6 and 7.
Addressing the media here on Friday, the UAKA president Arvind Kumar Kotnala said that the association is the only affiliated unit of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation. It is affiliated with the WAKO world. “This year we are expecting approximately 200 plus participants in different categories of boys, girls, cadets, junior and senior from all the affiliated clubs and the district units of Uttrakhand. The selected participants from the championship will participate in the upcoming national championships in Chandigarh which will be held in July,” said Kotnala.
He further said that last year UAKA brought laurels for Uttarakhand state in national championships. “This year we sent our three coaches for an international coaching diploma course and they have successfully completed the course,” he added.
