The Dehradun chief development officer (CDO) Jharna Kamthan has issued an order to send notices to eight departments on Thursday that failed to make any progress in the schemes under the district plan. Kamthan conducted a meeting on Thursday to review the progress of various programmes running under district sector, state sector, centrally funded, external aided and others by various departments.

The CDO found out during the review that the expenditure percentage of the district plan was 24.42 percent, 67.40 percent of the state sector, 84.77 percent of centrally funded schemes and 60.06 per cent of externally aided schemes. The expenditure percentage also indicates the work progress made by respective departments under a plan. Since the progress percentage of the district plan was only 24.42 percent, the CDO expressed her disappointment over this slow rate of work being done under the plan. She directed the officials concerned to work on the increasing progress percentage of the schemes under district plan in their respective departments. She also directed the officials concerned to issue notices to eight departments that have shown zero progress percentage in the district plan.

These departments include public works department, UREDA, homeopathic, rural development, community development, education department, Panchayati Raj, Swajal Project and child development among others. She also instructed the officials to make a roster-wise programme to visit respective areas under the schemes to review the plan for better operation.
