During this year’s Kedarnath yatra beginning on April 25, the pilgrims can have darshan through tokens which will be given by the tourism department in one-hour slots. At the same time, registration of the pilgrims will be made offline. This aside, on the route from Sonprayag to Kedarnath, teams of paryatan mitra will be deployed. The team members will not just assist the pilgrims but will also acquaint them with the spiritual greatness of Panch Kedar. The Rudraprayag district tourism officer Rahul Choubey said that the token system is being introduced to control the crowd.
In the first slot, token will be distributed from five counters. Later, as the number of pilgrims increase, the number of counters may be increased. This time, biometric registration of the pilgrims will be done and this will help the administration fix the number of the pilgrims.
