Dhami begins work from office, seeks blessings of religious fraternity

Not wasting time after assuming charge, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami began work from his office after ritual prayers on Wednesday. Later in the day he visited Haridwar to offer oblations to Ganga and seek the blessings of the religious fraternity.

Dhami first visited various sections in the secretariat and checked various files. He directed the officials to ensure that files received are processed swiftly. Stating that the public has a lot of expectations from the government, he stressed that attention should be paid on ensuring that public grievances are resolved without delay. He said that swift execution and transparency should be accorded importance in execution of all works. The officials were directed to ensure that people do not have to unnecessarily visit the secretariat to get their work done. The system to track the files received by the administration should also be strengthened, he said. The chief minister then visited Har Ki Paidi where he offered prayers to the Ganga.

Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the spiritual and environmental importance of the Ganga river. Since it was Dhami’s first visit to Haridwar after assuming the charge of chief minister, he was welcomed by BJP workers and the general public at Bhaniawala, Chidderwala, Raiwala, Haripurkala and Bhupatwala en route to Haridwar. Thanking the citizens for the welcome, he assured that he will strive to redress public grievances and work to fulfill the expectations of the public from him. Later, after offering prayers at the Ganga, the chief minister visited Panchayati Niranjani Akhada where he met Mahant Ravindra Puri and Dakshin Kali Peeth’s Swami Kailashanand. He then visited the BJP office in Haridwar where he interacted with the party workers. Dhami then offered prayers at the Daksh temple before reaching Harihar Ashram where he met Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Avdheshanand Giri and Rajrajeshwaranand at the Jagatguru Ashram. Dhami then visited Shantikunj where he met Pranav Pandya. Later in the evening, the chief minister met Yoga guru Ramdev and his aide Acharya Balkrishna. He said that Patanjali Yogpeeth had contributed to the progress of Uttarakhand and the nation. He credited Ramdev for popularising Yoga across the world.
