The authorities have found bodies of three missing teenagers from a river in Kotdwar in Pauri district on Monday after an intensive search of three days. The police station in-charge of Kotdwar Vijay Singh informed that three boys named Aryan Singh (16), Namo Chhetri (15) and Deepak Kumar (13) were reported missing by their guardians on September 9 claiming that the three teenagers living in the same locality went to visit a nearby temple on a scooty but did not return even after several hours. He said that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) searched for the bodies but they could not be found for two days.

The Forest department informed the police early on Monday morning that some bodies have been spotted near the river which is about five kilometres far from the city area. The police said it appears from the first impression of the situation that the boys were tripling on the scooty and it possibly crashed on the road and fell down the bridge.

The bodies were possibly swept away further from under the bridge due to the rain next day as they were found over 100 metres away from the scooty. The bodies were found only after the bodies started smelling near the forest area, said the police. However, the police added that they are waiting for an autopsy report to confirm the cause of death of the deceased to determine whether there was any foul play in their deaths.
