THDCIL inks MoA with Arunachal Pradesh Govt for 1200 MW Kalai-II HEP

THDC India Limited signed memorandum of agreement (MoA) for the implementation of the 1200 MW Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh recently in New Delhi. 

Informing about this, the chairman and managing director of THDCIL RK Vishnoi said that this project comprises seven generating units, including six of 190MW and one of 60MW, and the estimated cost of the project stands at Rs 13,000 crore. 

While the commissioner (Hydro) Ankur Garg signed the MoA   on the behalf of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh the director (Technical) Bhupender Gupta did the same for THDCIL.  While addressing the MoA signing ceremony, the chief secretary of Arunachal Pradesh said that Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project (HEP) is set to transform the Lohit basin region developmentally aside from addressing its energy requirement  Lauding the project, Vishnoi said that this project would emerge as a key driver for the socio-economic progress of the region.
