Heavy rain/snowfall warning issued for eight districts, rain & snowfall likely across State

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy rain/snowfall in parts of eight districts of the State on Sunday. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with hail/ lightning / intense showers are likely in parts of seven districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/snowfall/thunderstorm is likely to occur at most places in districts of the State while snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 2,500 metres and above.

The meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the probability of heavy rain/snowfall likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pauri, Nainital and Dehradun districts today. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with hail/ lightning / intense showers are likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thunderstorm accompanied with hail also likely to occur. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 27.9 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 17.4 degrees Celsius and 5.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.8 degrees Celsius and 5.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 21 degrees Celsius and 6.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
