Actions against more officers likely in land records forgery case

In latest Dehradun news, in a stern action taken by the State government in the context of the unfolding land registry records forgery, the sub-registrar of the Stamp and Registration department has been suspended. Sources privy to the development said that he has been suspended on the order of the chief minister. It is further learnt that the suspension order was triggered by his alleged failure to discharge his responsibility in the desired manner and his actions in violation of the government rules. It is said that his actions amounted to serious violation of the Uttaranchal Government Servants’ Conduct Rules 2002. The charges levelled against him are grave in nature and if these charges are found to have substances in the probe report the sub-registrar may face sterner actions in future, administrative sources said. The suspension order has been issued under relevant sections of the Uttaranchal Government Servant (Discipline and Appeal) Rules.
