Only 26 new patients of Covid-19 reported in state on Friday

The state health department has so far vaccinated 134842 health care and front line workers with the Covishield vaccine in Uttarakhand. The vaccination drive in the state started on January 16. On Friday, 5487 people were vaccinated in 109 vaccine sessions held in different parts of the state. The chief operating officer (COO) of the Uttarakhand State Control Room, Abhishek Vajpayee said that 6990 health care workers in the state have received the second dose of the vaccine in the state. In Haridwar 28 vaccine sessions were organised on the day in which 946 front line workers and 246 health workers were administered the vaccine dose. Similarly 840 frontline and 457 health workers were vaccinated in 27 sessions in Dehradun. A total of 79371 health workers and 55471 frontline workers have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.

 Meanwhile only 26 new patients of the Covid-19 were reported from different parts of the state by the health department on Friday. The state now has 97031 patients of the disease. The department also reported the death of two patients from the disease on Friday after which the death toll from the disease has increased to 1686. The authorities discharged 68 patients from different hospitals on the day following their recovery from the disease. A total of 93407 patients have recovered so far from the disease in the state and the recovery percentage stands at 96.27 and the sample positivity rate is 4.21 percent.

The health department reported 16 new patients of the disease from Dehradun, seven from Nainital and one each from Chamoli, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Friday. The districts of Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi reported no new case of the disease on Friday.

One patient each of the disease was reported dead at Max hospital Dehradun and BHEL Main hospital Haridwar on Friday. 

The state now has 495 active patients of Covid-19. Haridwar district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 131 patients. Nainital has 93, Almora 70, Udham Singh Nagar and Pauri 33 each, Dehradun, Chamoli and Tehri 22 each, Pithoragarh 19, Bageshwar 18, Champawat 16, Uttarkashi 13 and Rudraprayag three active cases of the disease.
