Government suspends three officers of State Tax Dept

The State government has suspended three officers of the State Tax department for dereliction of duty and causing loss to the State exchequer.  On the orders of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the State administration suspended the deputy commissioner Yashpal Singh, assistant commissioner Kuldeep Singh and joint commissioner VP Singh with immediate effect. Acting on a complaint made in the office of CM, a combined team of district administration and State Tax department had conducted a surprise inspection of the Dehradun railway station on July 9. The team confiscated 70 items and found that 63 of them were without any valid documents of transporting the goods. It was calculated that a revenue loss of Rs 65.29 lakh occurred to the State. The three officers were found responsible for the illegal transport of goods and disciplinary action was taken on Friday. The officers will report to the office of additional commissioner, headquarters during their suspension period.
