Kejriwal appeals supporters of BJP & Congress to support AAP

Wednesday, 09 February 2022 | PNS | Dehradun

After trying to woo voters of different sections of the state ahead of ensuing assembly elections, the Delhi chief minister and national convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the potential voters of Congress and BJP to vote for his party this time for the state’s development which could not be achieved by these parties in over two decades. He said that it will make no difference to the state if people give one more chance to these parties as they have no vision and intentions to work for public welfare.

Addressing a Press conference in Haridwar on Tuesday, he said, “People gave 10 years to Congress. What has Congress done for them in 10 years? Did Congress give jobs to their children here? Did it provide quality education or health facilities? If it could not provide all these basic facilities in 10 years, why should anybody vote for its leaders?”

He stated that BJP is no better than Congress and has done nothing significant in the past five years other than changing its CMs here.

The Delhi CM also alleged that successive governments of BJP and Congress have given a debt of Rs 72,000 crore to the state that they have allegedly used to fill their coffers rather than using it for the development works. “I promise that our government will pay off all the debts in the next five years and would bring the government to profit as we did in Delhi but we need public support. I am not asking Congress or BJP supporters to leave their parties and join AAP. All we want is only the people’s vote this time. When the people will see the significant development across the state, they will forget other political parties as people did in Delhi,” said Kejriwal.

On the question of allegations leveled by some party members who left AAP alleging that the tickets are being bought and sold in the state, Kejriwal said that the allegations were leveled by those who were not made the party candidates. “Such allegations are baseless. If anybody has proof then provide it to me and I will make sure to put that person behind the bars besides being expelled from the party. I had expelled a cabinet minister in Delhi when we found some evidence against him. AAP never tolerated corruption,” stated Kejriwal.
