Senior BSP leader Subodh Rakesh and his supporters join BJP

With leaders of other parties joining the Bharatiya Janata Party becoming a regular affair, former State minister and senior Bahujan Samaj Party leader Subodh Rakesh joined the BJP along with his supporters in Dehradun on Sunday.Welcoming him to the party, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the throng of those joining the party shows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is bound to be re-elected for a third term in office.

Bhatt and the party’s Haridwar candidate Trivendra Singh Rawat welcomed Rakesh and his supporters who joined the BJP at a programme held here on Sunday. Bhatt said that thousands of people from the OBC and backward segment are joining the BJP. A senior leader like Subodh Rakesh who is linked to the grassroots, joining the BJP will boost the party’s efforts further. “The BJP is certain to win in all the five Lok Sabha constituencies but we want to maximise the support of all segments of the society for the victory. We are welcoming all those who want to contribute to the mission of nation building under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi,” the BJP State president said.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Rakesh said that the nation is achieving unprecedented development under PM Modi’s leadership. He said that he and his supporters were eager for a long time to contribute in the efforts to make India and Uttarakhand developed. “Today is the right time and all of us are now in the BJP. All of us will cooperate in ensuring victory of the BJP candidates in Haridwar and other seats by record margins,” he said.

BJP’s Haridwar candidate and former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat and MLA Vinod Chamoli also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
