Salt By election : Cong appoints Mahra, Aryendra Sharma as observers

The Uttarakhand Congress has appointed deputy leader of Congress legislature party the state assembly Karan Mahra and Vice President Aryendra Sharma as observers for the Salt by- election. The Salt assembly seat in the Almora district is vacant after the death of Surendra Singh Jeena last year.

The general secretary Organisation Vijay Saraswat said that the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has handed over the responsibility of observer to Mahra and Aryendra Singh. He said that these two would visit the constituency, coordinate with the party leaders and workers in Salt and submit a report to the PCC for selection of the official candidate of the party. Ganga Pancholi who had unsuccessfully contested the seat in the assembly election of 2017 and Vikram Rawat, son of senior Congress leader Ranjit Rawat are the probable candidates of the party from Salt.
